A museum dedicated to the late dance music legend, Avicii is opening next year in Stockholm, Sweden.
According to a press release announcing the museum, the Avicii Experience is an “intensively emotional tribute to one of the true icons of modern popular culture.”
The Avicii Experience will give visitors a glimpse into one of the most prolific and pioneering minds electronic dance music has ever seen, and unique insights into his “creative process and the many collaborations behind the music.” The press release also states that the museum will feature “memorabilia, unseen photos and video, plus published and unpublished music,” as well as “previously unreleased material that was the foundation for the posthumous album Tim,” which will be made available for the first time. Additionally, fans will be able to hear unpublished, early versions of Avicii’s iconic breakthrough single “Levels.”
The Avicii Experience is a part of SPACE, a new shared experience concept combining gaming, music, and content creation that is set to open in Stockholm in 2021. A portion of revenue from the Avicii Experience will be donated the Tim Bergling Foundation, which advocates for the recognition of suicide as a global health emergency and actively supports organisations that research preventative actions against mental illness, especially in young people.
