The Recording Academy has announced it’s nominees for the 62nd annual Grammy Awards, and electronic music is well represented.
That’s not to say some of EDM’s familiar faces aren’t included. Skrillex, Boys Noize and Ty Dolla $ign nabbed a nomination for “Midnight Hour,” as did Flume for his Hi This Is Flume mixtape. They were joined, however, by more cerebral artists like Bonobo, The Chemical Brothers, RÜFÜS DU SOL and Tycho.
Last year’s nominees included the likes of FISHER, Above & Beyond, Porter Robinson and Disclosure. In the end, Diplo, Dua Lipa and Mark Ronson took home the Grammy for Best Dance Recording for “Electricity,” while Justice beat out everyone in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category for Woman Worldwide.
The 62nd annual Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on January 26th, 2020. Find the full list of nominees here.
